Snee Farm offers a central location just past Towne Centre on Hwy 17 in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. When this community was created in the 1970s, most of Mt. Pleasant as we know it today was undeveloped land. Snee Farm is a large neighborhood spanning from Hwy 17 to Longpoint Road, and it offers plenty of space for an 18 hole golf course plus other amenities. The main drawback we hear from buyers over the years is that some of these homes feel dated and need a good bit of cosmetic work in order to compete with the newer homes in Mt. Pleasant golf communities like Dunes West and Rivertowne. However, location and age are often tradeoffs, especially in a suburb that has grown so quickly over the past 2 decades!
The beaches at Isle of Palms and Sullivan’s Island are less than a 5 minute drive, and Snee Farm is less than a 20 minute commute from Downtown Charleston. You’ll find tons of shopping, restaurant, and entertainment options within a 3 minute drive of these houses and townhouses.

Snee Farm Country Club
The Snee Farm Country Club is located within the community and features an 18-hole championship golf course, driving range, and putting green. There are also 10 hard surface tennis courts and 8 clay tennis courts - all of which are lighted. There are tennis lessons and year round leagues available. The Country Club allows members to enjoy the large family pool, a wading pool, and an adult-only pool. Members can participate in activities such as water aerobics, swim team, swim lessons, and Friday night kids' fun. The large dining room of the club house overlooks the greens and includes a continental breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays. The Country Club also hosts many social events throughout the year such as dancing, trivia, holiday buffets, cookouts, bridge, and bingo.
Snee Farm's George Cobb designed golf course features 6,834 yards and is an 18-hole, par-72 course. Its setting amongst lakes, marsh, and streams providing a challenging yet enjoyable round of golf. Snee Farm has a grass tee driving range, a short hole with a sand bunker for chipping, and a putting green. A PGA professional staff member is on hand, as well. Every year, the Rice Planters Annual Amateur Golf Tournament is played here.
Snee Farm is an established, mature neighborhood with amenities such as golf, tennis, and a pool. Its central location in Mt. Pleasant makes it convenient to Downtown Charleston, shopping, and the beaches. Snee Farm is nestled off Highway 17 across from the Mount Pleasant Towne Centre and the Isle of Palms Connector. Isle of Palms and Sullivan's Island are only a 3 minute drive or a 20 minute bike ride. Downtown Charleston is an easy commute, only 15 to 20 minutes. Snee Farm is known for its picturesque landscape with old oak trees and established homes.
The neighborhood we now know as Snee Farm was developed on the grounds of the Snee Farm Plantation which had been in existence for over 200 years. The process of building a neighborhood began in the early 1970's and came to a close around the late 1980's. Townhomes and single family homes are spread nicely throughout the property. Lot sizes are usually over ¼ of an acre to approximately 1 acre. Most of the homes need some cosmetic updating inside and out, so if you are looking for a move-in ready home, this might not be the neighborhood for you. However, if you are willing to spend some time, money, and energy to put some love into an older home with character, Snee Farm is a wonderful neighborhood to make your home in.
